Shipping

Every order pays one delivery price. Posty5 works it out in this order, and the first step that gives an answer is the price the customer pays,

  1. Parcel size price — the cart is measured as one parcel and matched to the smallest parcel size it fits. If that size has a price for the customer’s city, governorate or country, that price is charged.
  2. Delivery fee of the place — if no parcel size gives a price, the delivery fee of the city is used, then the governorate’s, then the country’s.
  3. Store default fee — if none of these places has a fee, your store default fee is charged.

Customers can only check out to countries in your list.

  1. In your control panel, open Shipping, then Shipping fees.

  2. Click Add a new country, choose the country, type its delivery fee and save.

  3. Click the country in the list. Its panel shows the delivery fee, the prices by parcel size, the payment methods and carriers, and the fees by governorate and city.

To stop taking orders to a country for a while, set Orders to this country to Paused and save. Its fees and prices are kept, so you can switch back to Taking orders later. Remove country deletes the country together with every fee and price inside it.

Rest of world, at the end of the list, is not a place you deliver to. It holds the payment methods and carriers used by any country that has none of its own.

Delivery fees for a country, a governorate or a city

Section titled “Delivery fees for a country, a governorate or a city”

Each country has one delivery fee. Leave it empty to charge your store default fee, or type 0 for free delivery.

Your store default fee, and whether a fee is charged once per order, once per product or once per item, are set in Settings, under Shipping settings.

To charge a different fee somewhere inside a country, open the country, click Set fees by governorate and type a fee on the governorate. Open a governorate to do the same for one of its cities. An empty fee uses the fee above it.

Switch Delivers here off on a governorate or a city to stop taking orders there. Its fee is kept.

A package profile is one parcel size, a weight limit, such as up to 5 kg, or a box, such as 40 × 30 × 30 cm up to 10 kg. A profile has no price of its own — you give it a price in each country.

Use parcel sizes when a heavy or large order should cost more to deliver than a small one.

  1. Open Shipping, then Package profiles, and click New profile.
  2. Choose One weight bracket for a weight limit, or One parcel size for a box with a length, width and height.
  3. Give it a name, set its limits and save.
  1. Click New profile, then Upload weight profiles or Upload parcel sizes.
  2. Click Download template to get the Excel file.
  3. Fill one size per row, its name, and its maximum weight in kg — plus length, width and height in cm for parcel sizes.
  4. Upload the file. Every correct row becomes a profile of its own. Rows with a mistake are listed with their row number — fix them and upload again.

  1. Open the country on the Shipping fees page.
  2. In Prices by parcel size, type a price for each size you ship.
  3. Click Save.

A size without a price is charged as the next bigger size that has one. If no bigger size has a price, the delivery fee is used.

Open the country, click Set fees by governorate, then click the parcel button on the governorate or city. Type a price only for the sizes that cost something different there. Every size you leave empty keeps the price of the governorate or the country, and the box tells you which price that is.

How the parcel price is chosen at checkout

Section titled “How the parcel price is chosen at checkout”
  1. The cart is measured as one parcel, the weights of all items are added up, and the largest length, width and height are used.
  2. The smallest parcel size the parcel fits is chosen.
  3. Its price is taken from the customer’s city, then governorate, then country — the first one that has a price.
  4. If that size has no price in any of them, the next bigger size is tried.
  5. If no size gives a price, the delivery fees are used.

Parcel prices need every product in the cart to have a weight — and a length, width and height for box sizes. Add them in each product’s Extra Shipping Fees tab. If one item in the cart is missing them, the order pays the delivery fee instead.

Shipping, then Parcel prices, lists every price you have set by parcel size, in every country, governorate and city.

  • All prices — filter by country or size, edit a price, or remove it so the size falls back to the governorate or country price again.
  • Check a destination — choose a country, a governorate and a city to see what each size costs there and where that price comes from. It is the same answer checkout gives.

Payment methods and carriers for each country

Section titled “Payment methods and carriers for each country”

Each country chooses which payment methods its customers see and which carriers deliver its orders. Open the country and use Choose payment methods or Choose carriers.

When you connect a payment gateway or a carrier, it is added automatically to every country in your list that it supports, and a country you add later gets the connected providers that support it. Assign available providers, under the country list, does the same for everything already connected. Nothing you set yourself is removed.

A carrier books your parcels, prints their labels and tracks them. Connecting one is optional — you can deliver orders yourself.

  1. Open Shipping → Carriers and integrations and pick a carrier. Filter by country to see the ones that deliver where you sell.
  2. Choose Test or Live and enter the credentials from your account at the carrier. A carrier in Test mode gives quotes and labels but ships nothing.
  3. Switch it on. Like gateways, a carrier is added automatically to the countries it serves, and you can change a country’s carriers on the shipping page.

Own delivery is for parcels you deliver yourself or through a courier you arrange. It needs no credentials.

When more than one carrier is connected, use Make default on the one you use most. Disconnecting a carrier removes its credentials; parcels already booked keep their tracking.

Parcels are booked with a connected carrier automatically, once you switch on automatic dispatch. If you deliver an order yourself, move it through its statuses on the order’s page as usual.

To switch it on, open Settings → Carriers and integrations. Choose the order status that triggers booking (Confirmed or Processing) and how the carrier is chosen, the country’s default carrier, or split evenly between eligible carriers. Once a parcel is booked, the carrier moves the order to shipped and delivered by itself.

Shipping → Shipments lists every booked parcel. From there you can track a parcel, download its label, retry a booking that failed, or cancel it. The same actions appear in the Status tab of the order’s page.
