Get your MCP URL
You need a Developer account and an API key. Both are explained on API keys and authentication
Connect an assistant
Section titled “Connect an assistant”-
In the Posty5 dashboard, open Account settings and choose API Keys.
-
Open the actions of the key the assistant should use and choose Connect an AI assistant. A key you have just created offers the same button on its ready screen.
-
Choose the access level.
-
Choose the tool groups. If the key only sees records made with it, the dialog offers Switch to All my account — we recommend it for an assistant, or it will not find anything you created elsewhere.
-
Copy your MCP URL and add it to your assistant. The dialog shows how for the assistants Posty5 has tested.

Section titled “Access levels”| Level | What the assistant may do |
|---|---|
Read only (read) | Look things up. It cannot create, change or delete anything. |
Create and edit (default) (write) | Also create, edit, publish and schedule. It cannot delete or take irreversible actions. |
Full (full) | Also delete, remove posts from social platforms, and send, pay for or cancel supplier orders. It must ask you before each of these. |
A tool above the connection’s level is not offered to the assistant, and it is refused if the assistant calls it anyway.
Tool groups
Section titled “Tool groups”- Pick only the groups you need. Every group adds tools the assistant has to keep in mind, and fewer tools make it choose better.
- The store group turns on by itself with any other store group, because every store tool needs a store from it.
- Store orders gives the assistant your shoppers’ names, addresses and phone numbers, which are sent to the company that runs the assistant. It is off unless you turn it on.
- One assistant can use other groups than the link’s by adding them to the end of the URL. The access level still applies — a group never grants an action.

Manage the connection
Section titled “Manage the connection”The API Keys list shows whether each key has an assistant connected and when the connection was last used. Open the key’s actions to manage it.
- Manage MCP changes the access level and the tool groups. The URL stays the same. Some assistants keep the old tool list until you reconnect them.
- Rotate URL, in Manage MCP, makes a new URL and stops the old one at once. Paste the new URL into every assistant that used the old one.
- Disconnect stops every assistant that uses the URL. The API key keeps working.
- Revoking the API key stops the key and its URL together.
- Activity shows every call the key’s assistants made — kept for 90 days.
Sending the token in a header
Section titled “Sending the token in a header”If your assistant can send headers, you can keep the token out of the URL. Use the address without the token and send it as a Bearer token instead. An API key in X-API-Key also works, with the key’s MCP settings — or Create and edit and the default groups when it has none.
