Bulk QR code generation
Upload a CSV file with one row per QR code. Posty5 creates every code and builds one ZIP with an image per row, ready for print.
Generate QR codes from a CSV file
Section titled “Generate QR codes from a CSV file”-
Open QR Code Generator in the dashboard and choose Bulk import.
-
Download the CSV template and fill one row per QR code.
-
Upload the file and pick the default template and the image size.
-
Check the file, then start the import.
-
When it finishes, download the ZIP of images and the results file.
The file’s columns
Section titled “The file’s columns”Every row may carry these columns. Column names are not case-sensitive.
| Column | |
|---|---|
type | What the code holds. Left empty, it is url. |
name | A name for your own list. Left empty, Posty5 fills it from the page title in the background. |
customId | Your own ending for the short link, when your plan allows custom IDs. It must be unused, including by an earlier row of the same file. |
tag | A tag to group and filter the links later. |
refId | Your own reference, for example a product code from your system. |
templateId | The design template of this row. It overrides the default you picked. |
fileName | The image’s name inside the ZIP. Left empty, the code’s name is used. |
Then add the columns of the row’s type.
type | Columns |
|---|---|
url | url |
freeText | text |
email | email, subject, body |
wifi | ssid, security, password |

type,url,name,customId,tag,refId,templateId,fileNameurl,https://example.com/menu,Table menu,,menu,,,menu-qrSave the file as UTF-8 CSV with commas and a header row. Values that contain commas go in double quotes, as spreadsheet apps do on their own.
The images and the ZIP
Section titled “The images and the ZIP”- Images are PNG, at the size you pick (512, 1,024 or 2,000 pixels).
- File names are made safe for every system and shortened to 100 characters. Two rows with the same name get -2, -3 and so on. A name with no usable letters becomes qr- followed by the row number.
- The download link of the ZIP works for 15 minutes. Open the import again to get a new link while the file is kept.
Every row is a normal QR code
Section titled “Every row is a normal QR code”Each row also appears in your QR code list, where you can edit it, download it again or follow its scans like any QR code you created by hand.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- One file holds up to 5,000 rows and 2 MB.
- You can create up to 20,000 rows in bulk per day (UTC), counting every import and API call together.
- One import runs at a time, and up to three more can wait for it.
- Each row costs the same as creating the QR code by hand. If your credits run out, that row and every row after it fail, and the codes already created stay.
Export your QR codes
Section titled “Export your QR codes”From the QR code list, choose Export CSV or Export JSON. Exports follow the list’s filters and hold up to 50,000 rows, like short-link exports. Wi-Fi passwords are never included.
