Coupons and promotions

Open Marketing → Coupons. There are six kinds,

  • Percentage discount — a percentage off the basket, with an optional At most cap.
  • Fixed amount — a set amount off the basket.
  • Free shipping — delivery becomes free.
  • Buy X get Y — buy a number of qualifying products and get some free.
  • Product discount — a percentage or amount off chosen products only.
  • Tag discount — a percentage or amount off products in chosen tags.

The editor walks you through four steps, The offer, The code, When it runs, and Review.

  • Coupon code — 2 to 40 characters, or let Posty5 generate one. Capital letters and spaces are ignored.
  • Minimum basket — the basket total needed to use the coupon.
  • Starts and Ends — without a start date, the coupon runs as soon as you save it.
  • Total uses and Uses per customer — leave empty for unlimited.

At checkout, the customer opens Have a coupon code? in the order summary and enters the code — one code per order. The discount shows as its own line and never exceeds the price of the products it applies to. If the order is cancelled or refused, the use goes back to the coupon.

A coupon shows as Running, Scheduled, Expired, Fully claimed or Stopped. A coupon that has been used can only be stopped, not deleted, because your orders and reports rely on it.

Banners are large slides at the top of your home page. Each has a title, an image, an optional separate image for phones, a headline, a subtitle and a button label. When clicked, a banner can open a product, a category, a store page, a content page or another address.

The news bar runs across the top of every page, above your header. Each message can carry a badge — New, Offer, Sale or Important — and link somewhere when clicked. Choose how the bar moves (scrolling, swapping or still), its speed, how many messages show at once, and whether it pauses when a visitor points at it. Shoppers can close it for their visit.

Trust badges — such as Cash on delivery, Easy returns and No prepayment — appear under the buy button on product pages. Set them under Settings.

Add your Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager ID under Settings → Analytics. They start collecting only after a shopper accepts the analytics banner, and they record page views.
