Getting started

Stores are created from your Posty5 dashboard, under Online Store Builder.

  1. Classic Store is a clean, conventional storefront. Modern Store is bold and image-first, with an announcement bar, a slider and large product cards. You can switch style and colours later in the control panel, under Design.

  2. The form asks for,

    • Store name — shown in your storefront header, in order emails and in the browser tab.
    • Store language — the language your storefront is shown in.
    • Currency — the currency your prices are in. You can change it later in the store settings.
    • Store address (optional) — the web address of your store, such as yourname-store.posty5.com. Leave it empty for a random one. Choosing your own needs a paid plan.
  3. Click Create Store. The next screen gives you two links, your storefront, which customers visit, and your control panel, where you run the store.

The first page of your control panel lists what your store still needs. Each step has a button that takes you to the right page, and it ticks itself when the step is done,

  1. Add your products and make at least one of them active.
  2. Create tags and put your products in them — tags are how your storefront groups products.
  3. Build your storefront sections in the designer.
  4. Check your currency and order settings.
  5. Open at least one shipping country — customers cannot check out without one.
  6. Add your contact details, an email, a phone number or WhatsApp.

Optional steps follow, your store’s SEO, your privacy, return and purchase policies, a payment gateway and a shipping carrier. They do not count towards the progress bar, and the checklist disappears once everything is done.

A store in test mode starts with a full demo store unless you turned off Start with demo data when you created it. If you skipped it, the setup checklist offers Add demo data while you have not added products of your own.

It adds sample products, tags, storefront sections, pages, banners, coupons, shipping, payment and shipping connections in test mode, sample customers, orders, reviews and reports. Everything is marked Demo and is removed when you publish your store.

Your store is published as soon as it is created — there is no separate publish step. Customers can visit it straight away, and what they see grows as you add products and sections.

Only the store owner can delete a store, from the store’s card in the dashboard. A store with active orders cannot be deleted — complete, cancel or refuse them first.
