How It Works

Get started in 7 simple steps

  1. Sign in and connect TikTok

    Section titled “Sign in and connect TikTok”

    Sign in to Posty5 and connect your own TikTok account through TikTok OAuth.

  2. Upload authorized video

    Section titled “Upload authorized video”

    Upload a video that you created or have the rights to publish.

  3. Confirm TikTok nickname

    Section titled “Confirm TikTok nickname”

    Open the TikTok publishing screen and confirm the connected TikTok nickname.

  4. Review preview

    Section titled “Review preview”

    Review the video preview before publishing.

  5. Edit caption

    Section titled “Edit caption”

    Edit the caption and hashtags manually.

  6. Select privacy

    Section titled “Select privacy”

    Select a privacy option manually from the available options returned for your TikTok account. Posty5 does not preselect a privacy value.

  7. Choose interactions

    Section titled “Choose interactions”

    Choose comment, duet, and stitch settings where available. These options are not enabled by default.

  8. Complete disclosure

    Section titled “Complete disclosure”

    Complete commercial content disclosure if the video promotes yourself, a brand, product, or service.

  9. Confirm declaration

    Section titled “Confirm declaration”

    Review TikTok’s posting declaration and explicitly confirm publishing.

  10. Submit and track status

    Section titled “Submit and track status”

    After confirmation, Posty5 submits the video to TikTok and displays the processing status.

TikTok Direct Post

TikTok publishing in Posty5 is always creator-controlled. The connected TikTok account owner reviews the video, confirms the connected TikTok nickname, edits the caption, manually selects privacy and interaction settings, completes disclosure options when needed, and explicitly confirms publishing before any content is sent to TikTok.

Original or authorized content

Users must only publish videos they created or have the rights to publish. Posty5 does not use TikTok Direct Post to copy arbitrary third-party videos from other platforms.

What Posty5 does not do for TikTok

For TikTok Direct Post, Posty5 does not automatically repost videos from other platforms, does not publish without user confirmation, does not choose privacy settings by default, does not enable comments, duet, or stitch by default, and does not add watermarks or forced promotional text to the uploaded video.

The video URL is invalid or cannot be reached. Check the link, make sure the file is accessible, and try again.

Optimize your content for maximum engagement

Video Optimization

  • Use MP4 format with H.264 encoding
  • 9,16 vertical aspect ratio (1080x1920)
  • Check each platform’s current video limits before submitting.

Content Strategy

Publishing a long video

Section titled “Publishing a long video”

Long video follows the same flow as a short one. The two differences are that Posty5 measures the length of your file, and that not every connected account accepts a video of any length.

  1. Choose Long Video

    Section titled “Choose Long Video”

    Open Post New and pick Long Video as the content type.

  2. Choose where it goes

    Section titled “Choose where it goes”

    Publish to a workspace, which posts to every account connected to it, or to a single account.

  3. Add your video

    Section titled “Add your video”

    Upload the file, or point Posty5 at a direct video URL you already host. A large upload takes a while — if a Pause control appears you can stop and resume it, and if it does not, keep the tab open until the upload finishes.

  4. Check the length and the price

    Section titled “Check the length and the price”

    Once the upload completes, Posty5 reads the video and shows its exact length and what the post will cost. This is measured from the file itself, so it is the number you will be charged. A video over 60 minutes is refused here, before anything is created.

  5. Check which accounts accept it

    Platforms disagree about how long a video may be. Posty5 shows which of your connected accounts will take this one before you publish.

  6. Write the caption and per-platform settings

    Section titled “Write the caption and per-platform settings”

    Exactly as for a short video — one caption, plus anything you want to change for an individual platform.

  7. Publish now or schedule it

    Section titled “Publish now or schedule it”

    Send it immediately, or choose a time. A scheduled long video sits in the queue exactly like a short one, and you can move it before it goes out.

  8. Follow the status

    Section titled “Follow the status”

    The status page reports each platform separately. A long video takes longer to reach the platforms than a short one, so expect it to sit in progress for a while.
